Hughster’s Gig Guide

Thursday 15th December: Polaroids of Androids Christmas Party –Oxford Art Factory – Free

Ernest Ellis & the Panamas are an excellent band, one of the most underrated going around at the moment. They will be headlining the Polaroids of Androids Christmas Party line-up on Thursday. Alongside them will be the Fighting League, Unity Floors and Sean Lockhart. FREE!

Friday 16th December: Oscar + Martin –Oxford Art Factory – $13.30

Oscar + Martin’s experimental pop music has been on high rotation amongst the Rain&Hale’ers for some time now. Their quirky sound and live show are a bundle of fun, a nice way to keep the silly season going. Unfortunately for me, it falls on the same night as my work Christmas party, so if you go, please don’t rub it in. Supporting on the night will be coolios Flume, Mrs Bishop and Conic. Solid.

Sunday 18th December: Tim Hart (Boy & Bear) – Piano Room – Free

A decent gig in the Cross, bizarre! The Piano Room is putting on a night dedicated to showcasing Sydney’s thriving alternative folk and acoustic scene, headlined by Boy & Bear’s Tim Hart.  Tim is actually B&B’s drummer, but he takes centre stage on Sunday, showing off his beautiful voice and simple but beautiful acoustic folk. Joining him will be three-piece Eush, and singer-songwriters Damian Enemark and Elle Kennard.

For the diary:

Saturday 18th February 2012: San Cisco – Spectrum – $15.30

Awkward is the new cool, and if so, San Cisco are one of the coolest bands going around. The West Australian youngsters’ smile-friendly indie-pop has been lauded repeatedly during the year, topped off by a nod in Triple J’s Next Crop 2011. To make things even better, they’ll be joined by the equally cute Jungle Giants on their national tour.
