We are loving Canadian fashion icon Mark Fast. He designs his knits by hand on a domestic knitting machine. His work is formed onto the body as he knits. He is inspired by the endless possibilities of lycra yarns and natural fibres together, sculpting areas of tension and areas of volume over the body. His garments are racey and sexy; any woman would feel confident and spectacular wearing one of his pieces.
What we like most about Fast is that he likes to use a mix of different sized models in his shows, to prove that the clinging designs look good on every body shape. He sent ‘plus size’ models down the runway at London Fashion Week in 2010. While noticeably larger than the average catwalk model, the women were by no means overweight. Go back in time and check it out here.
Fast’s latest collection for Fall 2011 featured his signature cobweb knits, alongside of a high-shine leather parkas with extra long sleeves and open backs; lace up leather leggings; sheer trousers and exposing underwear. See below our favs from this collection. We cannot wait to see what Fast does next.
